|It’s important to ask the right questions when reaching out to a potential venue for your retreat.
There’s a lot of information that you’ll need to know to decide whether or not you want to host your students at a particular venue.
Here are 3 of the biggest pieces of information that you should be asking before making a decision:
✨𝗛𝗼𝘄 𝗺𝘂𝗰𝗵 𝗶𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗱𝗲𝗽𝗼𝘀𝗶𝘁? This could be a flat rate of $1-2k or it could be a percentage of the rooms you want to reserve, which can often times be thousands and thousands of dollars. I recently was researching a venue for a client that wanted 20% down, which came out to over $12k 🤯, so we are going with another venue with a $2k deposit😁. Keep in mind that the deposit goes towards the final payment to the venue at the end, so it’s like getting it back.
✨𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗯𝗮𝘀𝗲 𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗲𝘀 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘄𝗵𝗮𝘁’𝘀 𝗶𝗻𝗰𝗹𝘂𝗱𝗲𝗱?
The base rate is what it would cost for someone’s lodging, meals and sometimes shuttle service for a week (or weekend). What YOU make is what you decide to put on top of that and you want to keep in mind what you need to pay for from that (included excursion, early bird, gift bags, travel, shuttles if they’re not included, etc).
✨𝗛𝗼𝘄 𝗺𝗮𝗻𝘆 𝗽𝗲𝗼𝗽𝗹𝗲 𝗱𝗼 𝗜 𝗻𝗲𝗲𝗱 𝘁𝗼 𝗵𝗮𝘃𝗲 𝗳𝗼r 𝗺𝘆 𝗮𝗰𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗼𝗱𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀 𝘁𝗼 𝗯𝗲 𝗶𝗻𝗰𝗹𝘂𝗱𝗲𝗱?
It’s important to be clear on what’s the minimum amount of people you need to make your retreat happen. One place I was looking at yesterday had a minimum of 18 and another was 8, it just depends on the venue. I personally couldn’t guarantee a venue that I would have 18 people, but I 𝗱𝗼 feel pretty good about 8.
When we work together, I’ll make sure to get all of the information that you’ll need to choose the right venue for you. Are you ready to start planning your next yoga retreat? Set up a call with me and take the next steps to make your retreat a reality!
