Nowadays, it’s more important than ever to create an experience for people that allows them to feel seen, cared for and engaged.

It’s not enough to come up with a “Yoga Retreat To Mexico” without any rhyme or reason, people want and need more! ⁣

Here’s 5 ways that you can make sure your retreat will stand out from the sea of others:⁣

𝟭.) 𝗖𝗿𝗲𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝗮 𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗰𝗵𝘆 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗺𝗲: Your theme is your WHY behind the retreat. It will guide all of your marketing, it will help define what you teach for the week and is the hook that will get people to sign up.⁣

𝟮.) 𝗟𝗲𝘁 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗮𝗰𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗲𝘀 𝘁𝗲𝗮𝗰𝗵 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗺𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗮𝗹: On top of teaching a couple of classes a day, consider adding a couple of activities to your week (or weekend) that help you to teach the smaller, more subtle components of your retreat theme. If your retreat is about connected to the divine feminine- you could add in some water ceremonies. If you’re teaching about confronting fear- you could add in ziplining.⁣

𝟯.) 𝗙𝗶𝗻𝗱 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗽𝗲𝗿𝗳𝗲𝗰𝘁 𝗯𝗹𝗲𝗻𝗱 𝗼𝗳 𝗮𝗰𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗿𝗲𝘀𝘁. Many retreat leaders make the mistake of jamming too much into the schedule, leaving people feeling exhausted and needing a vacation from their retreat. A retreat is not a workshop event where you talk all day at people, a retreat is a place where you can impart lessons (rather than lectures) and give plenty of time for rest and introspection. ⁣

𝟰.) 𝗔𝗱𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘀𝗽𝗲𝗰𝗶𝗮𝗹 𝘁𝗼𝘂𝗰𝗵𝗲𝘀. It can be a great idea to bookend the retreat with opening and closing circles and also get gift bags together to offer your participants when they arrive. Putting some thought into these 3 things can be a great way to show your participants you care and want to make the experience special for them.⁣

𝟱.) 𝗣𝗮𝘆 𝗮𝘁𝘁𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝘁𝗼 𝗽𝗲𝗼𝗽𝗹𝗲! Make sure you take time to connect with everybody one-on-one, it will make all the difference!⁣

⁣People are coming on your retreat for YOU and your unique offerings, don’t be afraid to lean into that and make this an experience that only YOU can offer.
